DESCRIPTION:Buddhism 101: The Heart of Buddhist Teachings for Zen Students\nAn Online Workshop and Practice Period with Melissa Myozen Blacker, Rōshi, and David Dae An Rynick, Rōshi\nYou are warmly invited to join Melissa Rōshi and David Rōshi in an exploration of the roots of Zen practice as taught in early Buddhist texts. We will begin with focusing on the teachings of the first Chinese Zen ancestor, Bodhidharma, and his “Outline of Practice.”\nUsing guided meditations, talks, text exploration, and group dialogue, we will consider the Zen perspective on these important basic Buddhist teachings. You can attend any one or all of these workshops.\nIf you’ve been curious about the Temple and about Zen Buddhism, this series is a great opportunity to learn more. If you’re already part of the Temple community, it provides a space for connection and community, as well as learning more about our practice. All are welcome!\nMore information or to register for one or more of the workshops, follow this link.\nThe remaining workshops will be held 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. EDT (via private Zoom link) on Saturdays, October 11, November 15, and December 20. Pre-registration required.\nSuggested donation per session – $35 Temple members / $50 non-members\nFinancial aid is available, and no one is turned away because of financial reasons.
