Paul Galvin\nPlease join us for a time to explore and discuss a reading from our Boundless Way Zen sutra book. Michael and Paul will facilitate reflection and discussion on the reading Uji – “Being-Time” Part 1 (page 49 in the BoWZT Sutra Book).\nEach of us will share our impressions and consider the perspectives of others with guidance. And we will all take refuge in Sangha as we speak and explore the Dharma together. The gathering is open to everyone (pre-registration is not required), with a suggested donation of $10 – $20, which can be given on our Temple donation page to support our ongoing engagement in the dharma.\nJoin the discussion using the Boundless Way Zen Worcester Temple link.\n \nUji – “Being-Time”\nby Eihei Dogen, from Shobogenzo; tr. Kaz Tanahashi, et al.; adapted, abridged)\n1. The Way the self arrays itself is the form of the entire world. See each thing in this entire world as a moment of time. Things do not hinder one another, just as moments do not hinder one another. The Way-seeking mind arises in this moment. A Way-seeking moment arises in this mind. It is the same with practice and with attaining the Way. Thus, the self setting itself out in array sees itself. This is the understanding that self is time.\nKnow that in this way there are myriads of forms and hundreds of grasses throughout the entire earth, and yet each grass and each form itself is the entire earth. The study of this is the beginning of practice. When you are at this place, there is just one grass, there is just one form; there is understanding of form and beyond understanding of form; there is understanding of grass and beyond understanding of grass.\nSince there is nothing but just this moment, the time being is all the time there is. Grass being, form being, are both time.\nEach moment is all being, each moment is the entire world.\n\nReflect now whether any being or any world\nis left out of the present moment.\n\n(Page 49 in the BoWZT Sutra Book)\n
