Rōhatsu Sesshin

A residential Sesshin at our Boundless Way Zen Temple (1030 Pleasant St, Worcester, MA 01602)

Rōhatsu is Japanese for “eighth day of the twelfth month.” December 8 marks the day Japanese Zen Buddhists observe the awakening of Sakyamuni Buddha and it is traditional to hold a sesshin during this time.

Sesshin is an intensive Zen meditation retreat with scheduled meditation, liturgy, dialogue, and dokusan (private meetings with the teachers). This three-day intensive residential retreat is an opportunity to dive deeply into the wisdom practices of Zen Buddhism from our Boundless Way Zen Temple. This sesshin will be led by Melissa Myōzen Blacker, Rōshi, David Dae Ann Rynick, Rōshi, and Dharma Holder Alan Sanhyō Richardson. Additional details can be found in the Sesshin Information Page.

Currently, all spaces are full. Registration is currently open for the wait-list. Register for Rōhatsu Sesshin Waitlist here. Anyone on the wait-list will be notified if a space opens up within one week before sesshin. If space is not available one week before sesshin begins, refunds will be offered to those on the waiting list. Final registration for attendance will close Friday, November 29th.
